Let’s go to the Library

Is my book really going to be in a library? It sure is!

LibrariesApparently, one of the libraries in my area supports local authors and my writing club reached out to everyone to let us know, “Hey, stop by the library and donate your book so it can be placed on the shelf.”

Well, this got me thinking what if the other libraries accepted donated books and it was just a matter of review and approval to be placed on the shelves?

Next week, the plan of action is to hit up another library and my son’s school.

I know as an entrepreneur I want to sell books, but as a writer I just want people to read my story and have it make a difference.

It’s a fine line between being an artist and trying to pay some bills. Black Widow and Whisper... I like this I could do this one! lol I have the exact outfit? Just not sure how to make it look realistic cause I cant do it do it lol

It’s getting close

Edit, Edit, Edit

I’m at the point where I realize I need to seek the help of a professional. No, I don’t mean therapy. I’m talking about an editor. I feel like I’m turning my wheels and correcting words that aren’t taking my story to the next level.

I need to suck it up and make the call.

Geesh, I didn’t think it would be this hard letting someone new actually read my work

Panic Attack or A Reality Check?

Anxiety sucks. With all of the details and checklists for my book, I think my brain went into overload. Too many things needing to be done, and it feels like it all has to be done right now.

Last weekend, I woke up to a helluva panic attack. I mean, clutch your chest, holla out “Elizabeth!” panic attack. I couldn’t breathe, my chest felt like it was going to burst, and I had trouble speaking for a little while. It was bad.

Now, I come from a long line of alcoholics, pill poppers, and relatives with a tendency towards chemical dependencies. I’m no stranger to seeing addiction in action. So, I have a few issues when it comes to taking my medication. I joke around about it, but the truth is I have a fear of being an addict.

It’s not cute.

Oh, my friend, but on that day…Gracias a Dios por los pastillas. There’s only been one time in my life that I understood the enthrallment of drugs and it was after 32 hours of labor. (I secretly still love the man who gave me my epidural. Sorry, babe.)

Dr says learn to control my stress. My hubby’s advice is slow the hell down and stop feeling guilty about taking bubble baths.

Building a Website for Dummies David Crowder 2007 3rd Edition w CD-ROM

My goal for this week is to build a website. Sounds easy, right? Buy a domain, click a few buttons, select the right pictures, and there you go. Voila! You have a website and you’re ready to go.

Unless you’re like me and agonize over every detail. Deleting and rewriting each sentence, making sure everything is correct because heaven forbid, it doesn’t look spot on.

And let’s not get started on choosing the right photos. Does this picture invoke my brand? Or is the city skyline a good choice that best portrays my WIP? Should I get professional pictures taken?!

Oh God, my head is spinning.

I’ve been surfing through tons of websites for ideas and inspiration. I’ve probably raised site stats for my peers thanks to my research.

Jeez, I hope I get this done before my new ulcer explodes.
